Ísafjörður Rock City

The typeface Ísafjörður Rock City is inspired by the Westfjords in Iceland and the music festival Aldrei fór ég suður
which is held every year in small town Ísafjörður. The festival brings the town to life with variety of musical performances 
and an energetic atmosphere. The concept for the typeface is drawn from the festival´s existing type design, which is a kind 
of slab serif style. The idea was to create a slab serif font with exaggerated features that would work as display typeface and 
catch the viewer’s eys. The goal was to capture the electrifying energy that fills the town during the festival. 

Below is a poster I designed to show the typeface in use.
